Her Master’s thesis used Actor Network Theory to research the assembly of neighborhoods in Cairo and its relationship to local building methods. She has developed different workshops that tested and questioned alternative research theory in the urban space and presented papers about this in a variety of platforms, most recently at the RC21 urban conference.
In 2014 Sarah founded her own practice studiolokal.net for urban research and urban management. Among other projects she has lead the research of the “Verwandtschaftskarte” at Regionalplanung Zürich und Umgebung (RZU), worked as a consultant for the German GIZ and served as co-curator of the Winterthur Urban Forum and the pop-up exhibition re:work.
